On 24th April 2025 at 2:00 p.m. CEST, the #EU4Ocean Coalition will host the seventh episode of its dynamic webinar series “Where Ocean Literacy meets EU Business”, this time diving into the Renewable Energy Industry. Organized by EurOcean, this 1-hour session aims to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge, industry practice, and public understanding, emphasizing the role ocean literacy plays in driving sustainable, ocean-based solutions in Europe’s energy transition.

The renewable energy sector, particularly ocean energy, is emerging as a key player in mitigating climate change and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Episode 7 will highlight how collaboration between ocean literacy, science and technology, and industry can pave the way for a sustainable future.

The episode will feature a moderator and two distinguished speakers:

Ned Dwyer – Moderator
Independent Consultant with extensive experience in Earth Observation, climate adaptation, and ocean science outreach.

Brendan Cahill – Director of Development Lead, ORPC Ireland
Expert in ocean energy development, with over 15 years’ experience across academia, consultancy, and public sector roles.

Denis Istrati – Visiting Professor, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)
Specialist in natural hazard engineering, focusing on the resilience of infrastructure and communities to extreme water-related events.
