The H2020 MaRINET 2, (Marine Renewables Infrastructure Network), project started on January 1st 2017. This is a follow on to MaRINET and brings together a network of 39 research centres and organisations spread across 13 countries with 57 facilities that are working together to accelerate the development of offshore marine renewable energy technologies - wave, tidal & offshore-wind.
EurOcean´s Executive Director, Ned Dwyer is attending the kick-off meeting in Dublin, Ireland on February 2nd, as EurOcean is participating in the project, in particular in relation to the development of the eInfrastructure which will be used for managing the data and results from the various test activities carried out at the infrastructures. EurOcean will deploy its Marine Research Infrastructures Database (RID) as part of this eInfrastructure. RID provides comprehensive information on over 900 pieces of marine research infrastructure across Europe and beyond.
