This 90-minute interactive side event invites participants to listen, share, and co-create pathways for ocean justice through science, storytelling, and ancestral knowledge.
What to Expect:
🔹 Ceremonial Opening and Ocean Connection
This reflective and interactive start will weave personal and ancestral connections into a collaborative “Ocean Tapestry”.
🔹 Keynote Circle: Crisis, Culture, and Collective Action
Voices from science, youth activism, and Indigenous communities converge to discuss:
- The current state of the ocean, biodiversity, and climate threats.
- How Indigenous Knowledge Systems Can Guide Resilience and Sustainability.
- The value of intergenerational responsibility and action for restoring balance.

Hear powerful stories of community action and cultural resilience from youth and Indigenous speakers.
🔹 Citizen of the Ocean Manifesto and Co-Creation Workshop
Engage in a hands-on workshop centered around the “Citizen of the Ocean” Manifesto. Imagine the ocean in 100 years—what if we get it right? Break into groups to design real, actionable strategies shaped by both science and Indigenous knowledge.

This event is part of the UNOC 3 Green Zone and will contribute to youth-led outcomes and follow-up activities, including the official Youth Ocean Event on 12 June at La Baleine.
