
The Indigenous Ocean Forum is an Indigenous-centred space hosted by Indigenous leaders from across Canada organized to coincide with the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC). Two days of breakfast receptions will take place to inspire, motivate, and strengthen Indigenous leadership and partnership in ocean conservation and management.
- June 10th - Indigenous Networking Event
Breakfast reception 8:00am. Networking 9:00-10:30am
Following a breakfast reception, this networking event invites Indigenous representatives to share their knowledge, experience, stories, and culture. Participants can connect and build new relationships with Indigenous Peoples from around the world through sharing their experiences advancing ocean sustainability and stewardship.
- June 11th - Global Panel: Navigating Our Ocean Journeys
Breakfast reception 8:00am. Panel 9:00-10:30am
A panel of global Indigenous change-makers will share on their personal journeys in advancing ocean conservation, planning, and policy. Speakers will reflect on their navigation of politics, science, values, and ways of knowing, reflecting on challenges and where they draw strength.This will be an opportunity to learn how Indigenous values and visions are transformed into actions that support ocean health for all future generations.
