EurOcean Member FCT to Fund 8 Projects in SBEP’s Second Transnational Call

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) has announced the results of its second joint transnational call, recommending 24 projects for funding to advance a sustainable ocean economy across Europe and beyond.

Under this call, FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, a member of EurOcean, will fund 8 projects, involving a total of 11 teams. These projects contribute to SBEP’s mission of fostering impactful, cross-sectoral, and transnational research that promotes both a sustainable and prosperous ocean economy.

The 24 selected projects span key areas such as:

  • Digital Twins of the Ocean (DTOs) at regional sub-basin scale,
  • Blue economy sectors and development of marine multi-use infrastructures,
  • Planning and managing sea uses at the regional level
  • And blue bioresources
