On Saturday, 20 September, the Sopot Science Picnic welcomed visitors of all ages for a day of discovery and fun. Our partners IOPAN and Today We Have represented the YOLA project.
Across four interactive stands, the public explored the ocean in creative ways. At the WATER BAR, participants sampled lab-prepared waters modeled after the Baltic, Mediterranean, and Dead Seas, learning why each one tastes different. Ocean-themed games and puzzles drew enthusiastic crowds, while a hands-on workshop invited visitors to create eco-friendly bath salts, recalling the days when salt was known as “white gold.”
These activities showed how science can be both engaging and playful, sparking curiosity while raising awareness of the YOLA project and building momentum toward June 2026.
