
The Portuguese National Committee for the Ocean Decade will host the international conference “Ocean and Human Health” on 11–12 December 2025 in Lisbon.
The event will explore the links between ocean and human health, highlighting both benefits and risks, and will bring together experts from marine sciences, medicine, health and social sciences, alongside policymakers, private sector representatives and civil society organisations.
The conference is organised in partnership with the National Ocean Decade Committees of Belgium, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, the Monaco Scientific Center, the Portuguese Committee for the IOC, the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, the Portuguese Maritime Academy and the Portuguese Council for Health and the Environment. It is an activity endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade.
