The YOLA project was present at the EMSEA Conference 2025 in Ostend, where Guillaume Lheureux from Nausicaá presented YOLA’s approach to empowering young people through ocean literacy and advocacy. His presentation highlighted how YOLA engages youth by showcasing marine wildlife, inspiring behavior change, and facilitating dialogue between civil society and policy makers.
YOLA, coordinated by Nausicaá together with EurOcean, Ghent University, the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IOPAN) and Today We Have, aims to empower young people aged 18–30 with leadership and advocacy skills to address challenges such as climate change and pollution. The project co-creates and tests advocacy tools through workshops in France and Poland, later transforming them into multilingual online training modules and youth advocacy interventions at high-level events.
