Copernicus Marine releases Ocean State Report 9

Published in September 2025, the Copernicus Marine Ocean State Report 9 provides a comprehensive overview of the current state, variability, and ongoing changes in the global ocean and European regional seas.

This annual publication draws on expert analysis and data from the Copernicus Marine Service to present key indicators of ocean health, such as temperature, salinity, sea level, and ice coverage. The 9th edition also highlights extreme ocean events observed in 2023–2024, and their links to broader climate and ecosystem impacts.

The Ocean State Report aims to make complex scientific information accessible to policy-makers, scientists, and the general public, contributing to informed decision-making and ocean literacy.
