On 5 November 2025, EurOcean Members – some of Europe’s leading marine research centres and funding organisations – will gather with Cooperating Members and special guests at IFREMER in Brest, France, for WAVE 2025 – Weaving Action, Vision & Expertise, our very first gathering of its kind.

Like a new tide bringing currents together, WAVE is all about connection. Building on EurOcean’s mission to connect knowledge, people, and ocean initiatives, this annual event charts a new course for our community to meet, exchange ideas, and inspire fresh collaborations across Europe.

The 2025 edition, hosted by IFREMER, focuses on “Connecting Data with Society.” Together, we’ll explore how collecting, managing, and sharing data can strengthen marine science, support better policy decisions, and engage citizens in protecting our ocean. Through a series of presentations and discussions, participants will share experiences and ideas on how to make marine data more open, useful, and meaningful for everyone.

While WAVE 2025 is an important moment for EurOcean’s Members, it’s also open to anyone curious about our network and eager to learn how we’re helping to steer the connection between science, society, and the ocean.
