In 2026, CESAM – the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies of the University of Aveiro and EurOcean member – marks its 25th anniversary, celebrating a long-standing commitment to excellence in environmental, marine and sustainability research. Over the past two and a half decades, CESAM has become a recognised national and international reference, producing science that supports environmental management, evidence-based policymaking and sustainable practices.

The anniversary year opens with the launch of CESAM’s official 25th-anniversary logo, reflecting the centre’s multidisciplinary research across land, air and water systems. Throughout 2026, CESAM will host a series of initiatives highlighting its scientific achievements, strategic vision for 2024–2033 and its continued commitment to addressing major environmental and marine challenges under a One Health approach.
