University College Dublin is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Coastal Engineering to contribute to the Horizon Europe project SEAMPHONI, which aims to develop innovative mapping, monitoring, modelling and management systems for Offshore Marine Areas (OMAs).
SEAMPHONI focuses on strengthening the protection and sustainable management of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) through interdisciplinary research and strong stakeholder and citizen engagement. The project will improve understanding of how climate change affects vulnerable marine ecosystems and support evidence-based decision-making for ocean management.
The successful candidate will carry out physical and numerical modelling of nature-based solutions to assess the impacts of extreme events on marine species and habitats, working in close collaboration with experts in coastal engineering, marine biology, data science, and international partners.
Applications are open until 19 February 2026.
