Nausicaá is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2026 with a rich programme of new exhibitions, scientific initiatives and public engagement activities, reinforcing its role as a key centre for ocean education and outreach.
Throughout the year, visitors will be able to discover new experiences such as the immersive tropical exhibition Échappée Tropicale, as well as new facilities and initiatives including the Vent d’Opale passenger vessel, designed to extend the Nausicaá experience along the Côte d’Opale.
The anniversary year also includes the renewal of key exhibition spaces such as Mr.Goodfish, alongside the opening of new science and innovation areas. A strengthened research programme will support marine biology and conservation work, including new laboratory spaces and collaborations with doctoral researchers.
Nausicaá will also expand its international and educational engagement, participating in major initiatives such as the UN Ocean Conference process, the Citizen of the Ocean programme, and conservation projects including coral resilience research in Colombia.
Strongly rooted in its local territory, the centre is also developing new educational activities for young audiences and community programmes, while reinforcing its role as a space for dialogue on marine science and societal challenges.
At the end of 2026, Nausicaá will continue its long-term expansion through the next phase of the Grand Nausicaá development project, including improved habitats for marine species and a major new exhibition dedicated to the Arctic.
