The Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences will host Sopot Science Day “Ocean of Change” 2026 on 13 June 2026 at its headquarters in Sopot. The event follows the international gathering dedicated to ocean advocacy, climate communication and youth engagement which also takes place in Sopot and Gdynia from 8 to 11 June 2026, as part of the YOLA (Youth Ocean Leadership and Advocacy) initiative and the International Youth Conference Sopot 2026 entitled 'Where the World is Heading’. 

The Sopot Science Day “Ocean of Change” will bring together scientists and the public through meetings, workshops, demonstrations and interactive activities focused on ocean knowledge and environmental change in the Baltic Sea.

Designed as a science outreach initiative, the programme aims to increase awareness of marine research and the impacts of environmental change, while fostering public engagement with ocean science.
