To celebrate its 15th anniversary, JPI Oceans has launched a Photo and Art Contest inviting artists, photographers and ocean enthusiasts to creatively engage with fifteen years of ocean research and innovation.
The competition encourages participants to draw inspiration from JPI Oceans' Joint Actions, which have addressed topics ranging from deep-sea mining and marine ecosystems to the ocean's role in climate regulation. Through art and photography, the initiative aims to make ocean science more accessible and engaging for wider audiences.
Open to professionals and amateurs aged 18 and above worldwide, the contest welcomes all visual art forms and photographic techniques. The winner will receive €1,000, while two runners-up will each be awarded €500.
Submissions are open until 6 September 2026, with winners to be announced in October 2026.
