The European Commission has launched a Call for Evidence to gather input for the development of a new Ocean and Water Research & Innovation Strategy.

Building on existing EU research and innovation programmes, including the Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030, the strategy aims to improve the coordination of ocean and water research, promote a source-to-sea approach to addressing environmental challenges, and support the development and uptake of innovative solutions.

Stakeholders and interested citizens are invited to share their views and contribute to shaping future European priorities for ocean and water research and innovation.

The consultation is open until 2 August 2026.
