The first edition of the DANUBIUS-RO 2026 Conference will take place on 7–8 July 2026 at the National Institute of Research and Development for Biological Sciences in Bucharest, bringing together the DANUBIUS-RI community to discuss research on river–sea systems.

The conference will cover key themes including water quality, sediments, biodiversity, climate impacts, pollution and digital approaches for understanding complex aquatic ecosystems. It will also highlight Romania’s role in strengthening the pan-European DANUBIUS-RI research infrastructure.
