The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership has pre-announced its first Regional Portfolio Calls for Interest, designed to strengthen collaboration and networking among ongoing blue economy projects at the sea-basin scale.
The calls will be launched in two waves:
- The first, provisionally scheduled for 29 July 2026, will focus on the Atlantic Ocean and Black Sea.
- A second wave, expected on 9 September 2026, will cover the Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea, and North Sea.
Five Regional Portfolios will be established, bringing together projects funded through the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership as well as other regional, national and EU funding programmes. Running from early 2027 to early 2029, the Portfolios aim to enhance regional synergies, foster collaboration with key stakeholders, reduce duplication of efforts, and address sea-basin-specific challenges.
Participating projects will benefit from increased visibility, networking opportunities, collaboration with European Commission experts, participation in Partnership events, and the identification of new cooperation opportunities.
An information webinar will take place on 7 October 2026 (13:00–14:30 CEST) to present the Regional Portfolio initiative and answer questions from interested applicants.
Following the official launch, eligible projects will be able to submit their expression of interest through the SBEP website. The deadlines are provisionally set for 28 October 2026 for the Atlantic Ocean and Black Sea Portfolios, and 9 December 2026 for the Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea and North Sea Portfolios.
