As the Blue-Cloud 2026 project reaches its conclusion, one of its most significant achievements is set to continue through the EOSC Node | European Digital Twin Ocean – a long-term research infrastructure designed to support collaborative marine science across Europe.
Building on years of work to make marine data more accessible and interoperable, the Node brings together harmonised datasets, analytical services and computing resources within a single platform. It connects the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) with the European Digital Twin Ocean (EDITO), providing researchers with an integrated environment to access data, develop tools and collaborate across disciplines.
The platform offers a range of virtual laboratories and workbenches covering topics such as fisheries, ocean physics, eutrophication and marine biodiversity, helping researchers address challenges including ecosystem restoration, sustainable resource management and climate adaptation.
The EOSC Node also contributes to the European Commission's broader vision for digital ocean infrastructure and will continue to evolve through the upcoming EOSC-Marine project, ensuring long-term support for Europe's marine research community.
