Polish Marine Institutions Strengthen Cooperation on Research Infrastructure

The Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IO PAN) and the Maritime University of Szczecin have signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen Poland's marine research and training infrastructure through closer scientific and technical collaboration.

The partnership aims to support the development of modern research vessels while promoting joint activities in scientific research, higher education, and innovation. The two institutions will exchange expertise on the design, equipment, and operation of research vessels, provide scientific consultations, and collaborate on initiatives that enhance Poland's marine research capabilities.

The agreement reflects a shared commitment to developing complementary research and training fleets, recognising that coordinated investment in marine infrastructure is essential for advancing marine science and supporting the sustainable growth of the maritime sector.
