Ocean Decade Capacity Development Facility Launches Strategic Plan 2026–2030

The Ocean Decade Capacity Development Facility (CDF) has published its Strategic Plan 2026–2030, outlining its vision and approach to strengthening global capacity for ocean science and sustainable ocean management.

Established within the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, the CDF acts as a strategic connector between institutions seeking capacity support and partners offering expertise, technology, training, and resources.

The plan focuses on three key goals: advancing equitable access to the co-design of ocean science, strengthening technical and functional capacities to contribute to ocean research, and supporting institutions in applying scientific knowledge to policy and management.

By 2030, the CDF aims to develop a portfolio of replicable programmes through long-term partnerships, helping ensure that more communities and institutions can participate in and benefit from ocean science.
