Assoc. Prof. Katarzyna Grzelak from the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IO PAN) is currently taking part in the 2026 Arctic Ocean Expedition aboard the Korean research vessel RV Araon.

During the expedition, Grzelak is studying benthic communities in the Pacific sector of the Arctic Ocean. Her research is being carried out as part of scientific cooperation between IO PAN and the Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI).

The expedition highlights the importance of international collaboration in advancing our understanding of Arctic ecosystems and their changing conditions.
