After 20 years at Nausicaá, its current colony of Cape penguins is moving to Le PAL, a partner animal park, where a new facility adapted to the species has been prepared. The move marks a new stage in the management of the colony, while Cape penguins will continue to be part of Nausicaá's future through a new dedicated space.

Nausicaá, a member of EurOcean, has contributed to the European conservation programme for the species since 2009, with 33 Cape penguin chicks born at the centre. Classified as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List, the species faces significant conservation pressures, making coordinated breeding and population management an important part of its conservation efforts.
