EurOcean member the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) has marked the completion of the EU funded MaRITeC-X Teaming Project, which supported the development of CMMI as a Centre of Excellence for marine and maritime research and innovation in Cyprus.

The seven year project, funded through the Horizon 2020 Teaming Programme, helped CMMI develop research infrastructure, attract and develop talent, strengthen international collaborations and create opportunities for research and industry engagement. Its completion was marked by a celebration in Larnaka on 10 September, bringing together representatives from research, academia, industry, government and the wider marine and maritime community.

The event also featured discussions on future partnerships for the Blue Economy and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between CMMI and the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute, supporting continued collaboration between the two centres.
