SEA4FUTURE
Advancing Sustainable Fisheries and Marine Conservation in the Mediterranean Sea

The SEA4FUTURE project, funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe Programme, aims to promote sustainable fisheries and marine biodiversity conservation in the Mediterranean Sea. By integrating scientific research, innovative technologies, ecosystem-based management approaches and stakeholder engagement, the project seeks to reduce fisheries' environmental impacts while supporting the long-term sustainability of marine ecosystems and coastal communities.

SEA4FUTURE focuses on improving fishing gear selectivity, reducing bycatch, assessing the effectiveness of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and Fisheries Restricted Areas (FRAs), and developing innovative modelling and decision-support tools. Through collaboration with fishers, scientists, policymakers and other stakeholders, the project supports evidence-based fisheries management and more sustainable seafood value chains.

EurOcean is a core partner in SEA4FUTURE, leading communication, dissemination and exploitation activities, promoting stakeholder engagement, increasing the visibility of project results and supporting their uptake by relevant audiences.
