The spotlight will be on the Ocean between June 5th and 9th of this year as delegates from around the world come together in New York for The Ocean Conference to support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14. The Governments of Fiji and Sweden have the co-hosting responsibilities of the Conference. Manuel Cira, Nausicaá´s representative to EurOcean and representing the World Ocean Network attended the pre-conference events earlier in February, where the agenda for the main meetings and various side-events were discussed. The MARINA project, which has a focus on Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), intends to take part in the conference to raise the profile of RRI in relation to marine research. MARINA is led by EurOcean member CNR (Italy) and EurOcean, Nausicáa and World Ocean Network are partners in the project.
