In the lead-up to the UN Ocean Conference and our side event “One Ocean, Many Voices – Youth and Indigenous Pathways to Ocean Protection”, we’re sharing a practical guide designed especially for young participants heading into international spaces.
Based on their own experiences, Lolita Couchene (Nausicaá) and Sheyla Ravelo Perez (Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium) created this guide to support youth delegates attending high-level conferences like UNOC. It’s a hands-on resource that walks young people through the ins and outs of global events, from understanding how these conferences are structured, to tips on logistics, networking, and emotional wellbeing.
This guide is intended to help empower and prepare young people for meaningful participation, whether it’s their first conference or they're simply looking for tips to make the most of the experience.
