MOIRAI

Ongoing

MOIRAI Project (Multiscale Ocean Models and Information for Climate Risk Assessment and Impact Mitigation), is an ambitious project aimed at developing next-generation regional-coastal physical and biogeochemical climate models. These models support the Copernicus Marine Service and Digital Twin Ocean (DTO) initiatives, offering innovative tools for assessing climate impacts on marine ecosystems and supporting sustainable coastal management.

The MOIRAI project brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of 15 partners from six countries, including leading universities, research institutes, and industry experts. These partners will integrate advanced national and Copernicus operational models to provide seasonal to multi-decadal forecasts across the European Arctic Ocean, the North Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea, with replicable applications for other European seas.

By leading the communication, dissemination, synergies, and policy recommendations, EurOcean will play a pivotal role in ensuring the project’s results reach key stakeholders, foster collaboration across related projects, and enhance the visibility of MOIRAI’s outcomes.
