European Ocean Days 2025: Driving Collective Action for a Blue Future

From 3 to 7 March, 2025, Brussels became the epicenter of ocean action as the European Ocean Days gathered researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and youth to discuss how to preserve Europe’s marine ecosystems and boost the blue economy. With over 1,800 attendees and 14 events, the week covered a wide range of topics, from the EU Mission ‘Restore Our Ocean and Waters’ to blue innovation and investment.

A major highlight of the event was the progress made towards shaping the European Ocean Pact and the European Water Resilience Strategy. These upcoming policies aim to ensure a healthy and productive ocean, strengthen the blue economy, and support coastal communities.

Throughout the week, stakeholders had the opportunity to contribute to a more coherent and strategic approach to ocean governance.
